BLOCKING: STRUZAN S-CURVE PART 2

I revisited the Struzan S-curve and wanted to trace over his compositions to find more patterns, specifically in his compositions that broke the perfect s-curve pattern to see what exactly was at work. What I realized that there was a layout pattern that I’m calling the “Struzan Side Step”. It’s when a new S-curve begins by stepping aside left or right from the main focal point and then beginning the S-curve:

Left - normal S-Curve that zig zags
Right - Struzan Side step that continues a line for a “double zig” or “double zag”

For example, a regular S-Curve would have Anakin on the right of Obi-Wan to have a perfect zig-zag, but here it side-steps:

 

I wanted to dig into how it helps the composition and I started seeing it function more a counterbalance in the composition- shown in green:
